 Good day today. I can't complain about winning! The conditions were nice, a little bit windier than last year. The race itself went well. I think I was steady. I didn't feel bad, but it certainly felt like the first race of the year. |

 I am jumping in to the deep end of American racing tomorrow at the Redlands Classic. The field is very strong, 124 riders representing 18 teams. Since Team Flexpoint will not be racing, I will be on a composite team, Stahl – SC Velo, for the event.

After a very long mesocycle of work, it was time for me to take a break. I didn’t necessarily need to hang my bike up, but if I did ride, it had to be a ‘bike walk.’ What’s that? Just what it sounds like… |

We finally found snow on our Saturday training day! It wasn’t snowing ON us, but it was left over from the storm that passed through two days before. Then, on Sunday morning in Long Beach, I raced with the local pro men on a 3 mile circuit. It was a portion of the 7 mile circuit the Tour of California men used later in the day. |

Living in SoCal means that we have relatively good weather all year around. In other words, I can train outdoors during the winter, unlike those of you trapped in the cold or snow. It also means that the local racing calendar continues to kick off earlier and earlier. We now have races in January!!! This is crazy to me, but there are actually guys who are amped up and ready to go. |
