Two Saturdays ago, I flew up to Oakland for the evening to talk at the ICCC (International Christian Cycling Club) banquet. The group has 850 members located throughout the world. I spoke at the year end banquet for their Northern California Spoke.
In addition to the opportunity to share a little bit about my journey into cycling, I also had the chance to meet some genuine people with big hearts doing fun things in the sport. I am far from a polished speaker, but I enjoyed my chance to meet, share, and answer questions. I certainly made some new friends whom I hope to see again in the future. Thanks to ICCC for the invite, and the excellent host housing! Next week, I will “speak” to the local BCI (Bicycle Club of Irvine) group. One of my local shops, Edge, is doing a presentation with my sponsor Skins, so they asked me if I would be involved. Hopefully, the audience comes with good questions. Since this is more of a riding club than a racing club, I certainly don’t want to bore them. |
